Is Elon Musk a fan of the Bored Ape Yacht Club, or a master of trolling?

An infidelity to Dogecoin? – The Billionaire Elon Musk has been at the center of global attention since its takeover of Twitter for 44 billion dollars. But already even before that, the least of his tweets was guarded closely. This May 4, the CEO of Tesla surprised his world once again, by putting NFT from Bored Ape Yacht Club for his profile picture!

Another billionaire adopting NFTs?

The non-fungible tokens from Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) tear themselves apart like hot cakes, and gold price on Ethereum (ETH). A success that has not let up for months.

This May 4, 2022, the whimsical Elon Musk suffered real emotional roller coaster to fans of these unique bored monkey tokens. Indeed, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX began by publishing the montage (below) of several BAYC NFTs on his profile picture on Twitter.

When Elon Musk trolls NFTs, which he finds “too fungible”!

While speculation about the potential detention one (or more) NFT of the Bored Ape Yacht Club by Elon Musk were going well, the creators of this montage of images gave a first indication of the (non-) seriousness of the thing.

Indeed, as Decrypt reports in particular, this new profile image was originally created by the house Sotheby’sas part of a auction of BAYC’s NFT, which was held in September 2021. Michael Bouhanna, the vice-president of Sotheby’s, thus asked Musk to remove image, or at least cite the source.

As can be seen in the billionaire’s reply tweet below, this image of disillusioned monkeys is not didn’t stay long on his profile, and has already been replaced. Elon Musk also commented (as a good troll) that these NFTs seemed a little too easy duplicable to his taste.

“I don’t know…it seems a bit fungible to me. »

No, definitely no NFT on the horizon: Elon Musk only seems to have eyes for Dogecoin (DOGE). The billionaire has recently considered the possibility ofuse memecoin to the smiling Shiba dog for fight spambot tweets on Twitter.
