Is cow’s milk dangerous for your health?

Drinking milk is, in the eyes of most of us, synonymous with good health. The supposed benefits of dairy products are regularly touted. But some voices are raised to denounce the negative effects of their consumption. What is it really ?

Cow’s milk can, in many of us, be poorly digested. 75% of the population would thus be more or less intolerant to lactose, because they do not have the lactase enzyme. This leads to difficult digestion. And lactose, a form of sugar, can also promote diabetes.

Cow’s milk can cause allergies in a small part of the population (7.5% of children, very rare in adults). Still in a small part of the population that has predispositions, it can lead to asthma, eczema, fatigue, migraines, bronchitis or even nasopharyngitis.

Milk contains calcium, however it is difficult for the human body to assimilate. It is possible to consume vegetables, oilseeds (walnuts, hazelnuts, cashews, etc.) or even vegetable alternatives to cow’s milk (almond, coconut, soy milk, etc.) in order to find calcium necessary for our health.

Cow’s milk, consumed in large quantities, could also be linked to certain types of cancer: prostate, pancreas, colon, stomach… On the other hand, it could protect against colorectal cancer.

For most of the population, cow’s milk can therefore be a beneficial source of many nutrients. On the other hand, it can turn out to be harmful for some of us, in which case alternatives exist.
